Andre Fischer

In this project, the authentic self is explored and sought to be portrayed in sculptural form, casted in metal. Through the work of depicting a person, I investigate what the Self is, aiming to load the artwork with an essence of being. I hope to offer objects that encourage wordless contemplation of feelings, which I believe is a way to wholeness and health.

With focus on awareness and an allowing atmosphere, I depict a model via sketching in pencil or charcoal and sculpting in clay or wax, letting the motif present itself by letting the model use her natural posture.
