About my work

As an artist in the public space you refer to several different fields. You interact with building the society, with architecture and with citizens interacting with each other. The task is inspiring and challenging. When I work with a site and a project, I investigate different aspects. I botanize in geography, history and context. I explore life with different aspects. What are our driving forces, our needs. I have also explored traveling in different ways, mental and physical movements. Thoughts about circulation and resilence are fundamental. I relate to society, human beings and nature in a sustainable way. The choice of material depends on what I want to express and on the context. How do I want the art to function on a site .
My aim is to bring the works into the future. What is important and relevant through epochs and generations when times are changing. The connection between culture, nature, technical and medical achievements are recurring themes. I often cooperate with Thomas Nordström.
The spatial experience of the art is a supporting element. the materials I use are stainless steel, lacquered steel, wood, glass and textiles.

Metamorphosis, transformation, process

About the artwork
We think that art, like a butterfly, a seed, a spawn or basic research, is transformed and takes different forms in different stages of development. You start somewhere with given conditions with your set of genes, your context, your family and your roots. When you go through life, you meet others and are influenced by different context. You are faced with different choices and opportunities. You change and become something else. The larva and pupa are the precursor to the flying insect. The art stands in front of the house. The golden wall becomes a backdrop. The sculptures take up space in front of the house as if they are on their way in or out. To share knowledge and experiences or contribute important information, discoveries and thoughts.

BIO about the artist
Was born in Nyköping Sweden
Master of Fine Artscafrom Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm 1991-1996
and after school I have focused on working in the big scale. My work has been mostly public commissionswhere I have related to different sites and situations. My first big scale public commission were for Stockholm Public Transportation in 1999 I made three big sculptures on the platform.
Since then I have been working with art in many different sites.
