David Snoo Wilson

"Even the woods are watching"

Snoo cast metal silver birch masks were made while in the Swedish countryside. The architecture and village layout were binary to his British urban understanding. The woods enveloped the surroundings keeping a watchful eye on the inhabitants, while the people surrounding also seemed to be keeping an eye on everything as well.
There’s a feeling that even the woods are watching and taking in your time and ways.

'During the casting process, I often use organic materials to take advantage of its exquisite detail. Also to give the organic material life and voice to l by subverting it. Changing the viewer's perception to allow them to see something more. A changed view of nature or an unknown anthropological object. '
