In most cases, my artistic work revolves around the meal, the eating and the objects we use in the kitchen and at the table. But just as often around the materials themselves, its history and traditions.

I get inspired by, often refer to, and work with materials and objects that has made an impact in history but in a contemporary context transforms into something else with different values. For example the “mother of pearl” that has often been regarded as precious and valuable but in a modern context often imitated and could be viewed more as “kitch”.

A while ago I started working with different stones, gems and all sorts of rocks. I´m thinking the material itself is in a way timeless but also represents time in the way that it´s eternal. It was here a long time before I existed and it will stay a long time after I have left. In this case I have been working with the stone Howlite, embroidered the stones separately on to a piece of textile. The working process itself has been time consuming but also meditative in a way. Little by little all separate stones created a new whole and together represents a time period of my thoughts and reflections during 2021.
