When people ask me why I make horses I almost never tell them. The real answer is too personal, long and complicated for normal conversation and usually people settle with ”I like horses” even though it’s a shallow statement. The truth is that it’s about so much more than horses and that not all people will understand no matter what I say. Horses communicate with their emotions and to me they represent the emotional awareness I strive for. Making my sculptures in the image of horses is in a way just as much about expressing myself and my emotions as it is a portrait of a horse. This is one of the few occasions when I actually have time to make an
attempt to explain why I make horses but also discuss why horses in art are important not only to me but to all humans as individual creative and imaginative beings.
