This body of work draws inspiration from Virginia Woolf’s 1928 novel ‘Orlando’. It explores notions of gender fluidity and challenges stereotypes of femininity through an investigation of material plasticity. Textures and forms are created using welded industrial section through pressure-induced material movement. Although manipulated, in essence it remains the same, reflecting Orlando’s narrative.

Dissertation title: An exploration of the forge as a hyper-masculine space from a queer perspective
