Maria Mastola

In my bachelor process I have filtered my thoughts and interests through different kinds of theories in sociocultural anthropology and social psychology. My focus has been mainly in western sociocultural phenomena.
Theories have been a backdrop, a lens through which I have formulated study questions and created new views, but my main focus is in art and how can change an individual’s perceptions of themselves and of the world.
I wish to apology that, in the sake of trying to keep my text easy to read, I have simplified quite a lot the concept of emotions. Emotions are far more complicated than what I have briefly described here.
In creating my exam object I have reflected my thoughts in a frame of latter part of the industrial revolution, around the Victorian era. That era has also been the source of visual inspiration.
